Ways to Take the Trinity CertTESOL
In-school courses run at our Portobello centre in Dublin 2, Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm, with study breaks.
Total price: €1100 (includes all fees)
Early bird price: €900!
The early bird discounted price is available if you pay in full at least 3 weeks before the course starts.
Also includes our complementary pre-course professional development course Using Google Apps for Education kickstarter.
Dates for upcoming 4-week In-School courses: *
25th April – 20th May 2022
The full-time course is, as its name suggests, an intensive programme and requires total commitment. In addition to course hours, you should allow between two to three hours each evening for reading, lesson preparation and writing up journal assignments. At least part of one day at the weekend would also be required.
If you have any other obligations during the period of the full-time course, such as a part-time job, it is highly unlikely that you’d be able to fulfil the course requirements. You should also be in good health, be able to access a quiet study space at home, and be able to manage the stress arising from an intense course.
* If, for Covid-19 reasons we have to run our full-time in-school course online, the start date will remain the same but we extend the course out to 5 weeks.

How the 10-week Course Works
Input and assisted lesson planning workshops generally run on two or three afternoons per week, 1.30pm to 5.00pm. We also schedule three Saturdays for other input sessions. The 6 hours of observed and assessed Teaching Practice will be held in-school in the mornings. The course runs face-to-face.
COMING in autumn 2022 – dates to be announced!
Alternatively, you may be interested in completing your CertTESOL through a less intensive part-time blended course (10 weeks). This combines synchronous, live classes with asynchronous self-study. Both components are fully online. Next course dates:
1. Synchronous – live meetings on Zoom only on two days a week
During these 10 weeks you will need to be available for online meetings on Zoom on two days a week
Attend live input or tutorials every second Saturday, 10.00am to 3.00pm
Teach one class of adults in the evenings (4 lessons with a lower level class and 4 with a higher level class)
Observe others teach
Give and receive feedback and suggestions by peers and tutor
Participate in assisted lesson planning workshops for your next lesson
For the 10-week online course, online sessions will be Mondays & Wednesdays for assisted lesson planning and Teaching Practice, 6.30pm to 9.00pm (breaks included). The Teaching Practice sessions with real students will be held via Zoom.
2. Asynchronous study on our CertTESOL learning management system
The rest of the week is flexible regarding when you study as you will be working with the materials on our online platform – write your lesson plans, teaching materials, and journal assignments for the course units at a time that is convenient for you.
On average, you will be required to complete 6 modules across the 5 units a week on the online self-study platform. In other words, you can study any time of day or night you have available!!!!
This is a great opportunity to complete the course without having to travel, give up your current job, quarantine, pay for accommodation and living expenses without money coming in… and still have the same great results!
Total price remains the same: €1100 (includes all fees)
Early bird special: €900!
The early bird discounted price is available if you pay in full at least 3 weeks before the course starts.
The same benefits are included – i.e., our complementary pre-course professional development course Using Google Apps for Education and the post-course Working in ELT kickstarter. In addition, the course itself includes our free Teaching Online primer.
